The Plaza Arts Center

The Plaza Arts Center occupies a renovated schoolhouse built in 1916 in Eatonton, Georgia. After a decade of restoration, the building reopened in March 2008 as a nonprofit arts and cultural center dedicated to bringing artistic, educational, and entertainment opportunities to the Lake Country communities. The center's facilities include a 500-seat theater with floor and balcony seating, a reception hall with a catering kitchen, a gallery and lobby area, the Old School History Museum, and a community board room. Outdoors, a manicured lawn with trellises, climbing white roses, and a central fountain surrounded by brick paths provides a picturesque setting for ceremonies and receptions. The venue hosts a range of private and community events — from weddings, anniversaries, and birthday celebrations to corporate meetings and public performances — and is accessible to mobility-impaired guests with dedicated entrances, ramps, and disability parking.
