An icon of downtown Chattanooga since 1872, The Read House Hotel offers a timeless setting for weddings, rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and unforgettable celebrations. Meticulously restored in 2018, the hotel blends historic grandeur with modern luxury, giving couples the romance of a landmark hotel with the personalized experience of a distinctive wedding destination. At the heart of The Read House is the spectacular Silver Ballroom, where soaring ceilings, original Waterford Crystal chandeliers, intricate silver-leaf moldings, and period details create an elegant backdrop for ceremonies, dinner, and dancing. With more than 16,000 square feet of event space throughout the hotel, celebrations can flow across a collection of distinctive spaces—from intimate gatherings to receptions and seated dinners for up to 300 guests. Additional venues include the Centennial Room and adjoining terrace, the Green Room, Chestnut Room, and the hotel’s first-floor Garden, offering couples the flexibility to create a wedding weekend that feels entirely their own. With guest room blocks and multiple gathering spaces under one roof, The Read House Hotel is ideal for destination wedding weekends, keeping family and friends together from the welcome toast through farewell brunch. The experience extends beyond the ballroom with Bridgeman’s Chophouse and the intimate, speakeasy-inspired Bar & Billiards Room, creating memorable options for rehearsal dinners, cocktails, and wedding weekend gatherings. Located in the heart of downtown, The Read House Hotel pairs the grandeur of a historic Chattanooga wedding venue with boutique character, exceptional hospitality, and more than 150 years of celebrations within its walls.
