The Retreat at Artesian Lakes

The Retreat at Artesian Lakes spans more than 100 acres of East Texas pine forest on the edge of the Big Thicket National Preserve, about an hour north of Houston off Highway 59. The property's interconnected Artesian-fed lakes provide a natural backdrop for ceremonies, and its blend of woodland scenery and rustic architecture suits couples drawn to a nature-focused wedding setting. Weddings and receptions are hosted at the Hilltop Restaurant & Wedding Garden, which pairs a lakeside dining room with an adjoining garden featuring stone retaining walls, a water fountain, a grassy lawn, and a wrought iron ceremony arch. The space accommodates up to 150 guests and includes two meeting rooms, a private dining room, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake and surrounding woods. For overnight guests, Romance Cabins offer king-size beds, fireplaces, double jacuzzi tubs, and private decks with porch swings. The Retreat also offers customizable wedding packages, horse-drawn carriages, catering menus, and resort amenities including a saltwater pool with a grotto hot tub and access to hiking, biking, canoeing, and fishing on the property.
