The Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel

The Stephen F. Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel has stood on Congress Avenue in the heart of downtown Austin for almost a century, opening in 1924 as the city's first high-rise. The AAA Four-Diamond hotel pairs its historic character with three on-site dining venues — Stephen F's Bar & Terrace, Café Fuller, and Roaring Fork — and is steps from the Paramount Theatre, Sixth Street, Rainey Street, and the Texas State Capitol. More than 6,000 square feet of event space spans six venues, anchored by the 3,600-square-foot Capital Ballroom, whose crystal chandeliers and star-lit ceiling suit weddings, rehearsal dinners, brunches, and farewell parties for up to 300 seated guests. French doors open from the ballroom to The Terrace, where guests can take in skyline and Texas Capitol views as an extension of the indoor space or a standalone gathering spot. Wedding hosts can draw on complimentary centerpieces, specialty lighting, and linens, along with custom catering menus for receptions, plated or buffet dinners, brunch, and rehearsal dinners. The hotel also offers an indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center for guests staying over during an event.
