The Villa Del Sol is a Spanish Colonial historic landmark nestled in the heart of downtown Fullerton, California. Originally built in 1923 as the California Hotel — designed by local architects Frank Benchley and Eugene Durfee and constructed at a cost of $136,000 — the property has been transformed into a mixed-use destination anchored by a charming al fresco courtyard that serves as its signature event space. The courtyard welcomes up to 200 guests for outdoor weddings, receptions, quinceañeras, corporate gatherings, and birthday celebrations. Beautifully landscaped with islands of palm trees and flowering greenery, the space features a Spanish-tiled bubbling fountain, ivy-covered breezeways, graceful archways, wrought-iron railings, and towering turrets — creating a naturally photogenic setting throughout. A second-floor terrace provides an elegant setting for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, while European accent lighting sets the ambiance for evening events. Events are scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with music options including live band, DJ, Mariachi, and acoustic performers.
