The Thomas & Mack Center is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada. Named for Nevada bankers E. Parry Thomas and Jerome D. Mack, who donated the original funds for the feasibility and land studies, the arena opened in December 1983 with a gala featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Diana Ross. Following a $72.5 million modernization, the arena seats 18,000 for basketball and up to 19,522 for boxing and ring events, with 42,000 square feet of concourse space and 30 VIP luxury suites. Home to the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team, the Thomas & Mack Center has hosted the National Finals Rodeo each December since 1985, the 2007 NBA All-Star Game, the 2016 Presidential Debate, professional boxing championships, and major concerts. The venue sits five minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and within half a mile of the international airport. A recent addition, the Strip View Pavilion, provides 9,200 square feet of multi-purpose event space on the arena's west side, bookable separately from the main arena for meetings and private functions.
