The Union Pacific Dining Lodge is a historic event center in West Yellowstone, Montana, built in 1925 and designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood — the same architect behind the iconic Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park. Constructed from native rhyolite stone and local timber, the building exemplifies the National Park Service rustic style: a soaring timber beam ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a massive arrowhead-shaped fireplace anchoring the main hall. Originally built to serve up to 350 Union Pacific Railroad passengers in a single seating, the lodge closed in 1960 when passenger rail service ended and later served as the West Yellowstone Public Library from 1981 to 2007. Today it operates exclusively as an event center hosting weddings, family reunions, corporate gatherings, and milestone celebrations. The Mammoth Room, the lodge's main hall at 6,600 square feet, accommodates up to 300 guests. The adjoining Firehole Room, with its own fireplace and historic bar, suits cocktail receptions and intimate events for up to 100 guests. The venue supplies tables, chairs, glassware, flatware, and audio equipment, and is wheelchair accessible.
