The Union Station Nashville Yards occupies a former L&N Railroad terminal at 1001 Broadway, built in 1900 in a heavy-stone Richardsonian-Romanesque style complete with a clock tower and a statue of Mercy, the Roman deity of merchants and travelers. The terminal closed in 1979, and since 1986 the building has operated as a luxury boutique hotel and special event destination, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Historic Hotel of America. The centerpiece is the Grand Lobby, topped by a 65-foot barrel-vaulted ceiling with gold-leaf medallions and original luminous prism stained glass, and named one of the "Best Hotel Lobbies in the World" by Condé Nast Traveler. Marble floors, oak-accented woodwork, three limestone fireplaces, and gold-accented bas-relief angel figurines round out the space, which can host up to 300 guests for a reception. Beyond the lobby, the hotel offers four event venues in all, including the open-air Trestle beneath the Broadway Bridge and the covered Veranda, along with more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space across six named rooms for weddings, galas, and corporate gatherings. A dedicated events team offers menu planning, day-of coordination, and access to local vendors for weddings, including a Tie the Knot package with discounted room blocks and suite accommodations for the couple.
