The Utica Zoo is an AZA-accredited nonprofit zoo set within Roscoe-Conkling Park in Utica, New York — a historic landscape designed by Frederick Law Olmstead Jr. From modest beginnings in 1914, following Thomas R. Proctor's 1909 land donation, the zoo has grown to encompass over 99 species across 67 acres. It is open 363 days a year and has been operated by the Utica Zoological Society since 1964. For private events, the zoo offers four pavilion rental spaces — Eagle View Pavilion, Rotary Pavilion, Visitor Center, and Zebra View Pavilion — each set amid the park's tree-lined grounds. These open-air and covered settings make the zoo a distinctive backdrop for birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations. A dedicated events coordinator supports planning, and the zoo works with a preferred catering partner for events requiring alcohol service.
