Whetstone Park of Roses

Whetstone Park of Roses is a public rose garden in Columbus, home to more than 11,000 roses across 350-plus varieties, making it one of the largest public rose gardens in the country. The park's Whetstone Shelterhouse, a 2,926-square-foot indoor space built in 1953, accommodates up to 175 guests and includes a kitchenette, two fireplaces, patio access, and heat and air conditioning, along with tables and chairs provided. For outdoor ceremonies, the Park of Roses offers three designated wedding sites: a fountain backdrop, a wedding trellis, and a brick gazebo, each set among the rose gardens and available as an add-on to a shelterhouse rental. Capacities range from 50 guests at the more intimate fountain and trellis sites up to 300 guests at the brick gazebo, where bleacher seating accommodates larger groups. Wedding sites are available April through October, and the shelterhouse is handicap accessible with a changing room and restrooms on site, making it a full-service setting for both ceremonies and receptions surrounded by the rose garden's blooms.
