Wick Alumni Center

The Wick Alumni Center is a 30,000-square-foot contemporary building completed in 1985 by award-winning New York firm Gwathmey/Siegel & Associates and named for Milton I. Wick, a 1922 University of Nebraska graduate. Home to the Nebraska Alumni Association, the three-story structure sits at the corner of 16th and R Streets in downtown Lincoln, entered through a raised garden with a reflecting pool and walls of Vermont slate. The centerpiece of the building is the Pascale Great Hall, defined by three-story cathedral ceilings, rich mahogany paneling, two dramatic staircases, a second-level mezzanine, and oversized windows. The Great Hall accommodates 180 guests for seated banquets or up to 300 for cocktail receptions and classroom-style events. Five additional rooms — including the Dana Room, Steinhart Conference Room, and Seacrest Library — offer flexibility for smaller gatherings, corporate retreats, and meetings. All room rentals include audio/visual equipment and support, a dance floor, and an on-site event manager. Four local catering partners are available to work with event hosts. The center is open to anyone for rental — no membership affiliation is required.
