Wisp Resort

Wisp Resort is Maryland's only four-season ski, golf, and recreation destination, situated in the Deep Creek Lake region of McHenry. Founded in 1955 on a cow pasture with a single rope tow and a one-room lodge, the resort has grown into a 132-acre mountain property spanning 33 slopes — and a full-service event venue drawing groups and couples from Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., and Baltimore. For weddings, the resort offers ceremony sites ranging from a picturesque meadow at the mountain's base to a mountaintop overlook with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Reception options include a classic ballroom and one-of-a-kind yurts, backed by full-service in-house catering, an on-site wedding coordinator, and overnight accommodations at The Lodge at Wisp. Group and corporate events take advantage of over 40,000 square feet of meeting and function space — the largest conference center in Western Maryland — accommodating groups from 10 to 1,000 guests.
