ZLAC Rowing Club is the oldest women’s rowing club in the world – and is the perfect place to host a unique and unforgettable celebration. Located on Sail Bay on the north shore of Mission Bay in beautiful San Diego, ZLAC Rowing Club offers a unique setting for your next event. A traditional Craftsman style designed by Lilian Rice and built in 1932 with a unique redwood interior, historic rowing décor, and scenic view of Mission Bay, the clubhouse is the ideal setting for any type of special celebration, wedding or corporate gathering, ZLAC Rowing Club has hosted wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, reunions, birthday parties, conferences, off-site meetings, presentations, retirement parties, award ceremonies, banquets, fundraisers, retreats, and more.

How much does it cost to rent the clubhouse?: Six-hour rentals are available to non-members on Fridays and Saturdays. No holiday rentals are available. A deposit of $500 confirms the date. For a complete quote, contact the Resident Manager at rentals@zlac.org or 858-274-0661. A discount rate may apply for individual and non-profit rentals sponsored by a member.
Can I have a wedding on the beach?: Weddings on the beach are permitted, but arrangements for beach use must be made through the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.
Can we serve alcohol at the club?: Beer, wine, champagne, and non-alcoholic drinks may be served. No selling of drinks or tipping is allowed. All drinks must be served by a caterer or bartender licensed for liquor liability. No alcohol is permitted on the boat apron, outside the fenced property, or on the beach. Event insurance with liquor liability is required.
Can I bring my own food?: The club requires use of a professional caterer chosen from the club's Approved Caterers list. These caterers are familiar with the club's requirements, helping ensure a successful event.
How many people can be accommodated at the clubhouse?: The clubhouse comfortably seats 125 guests. ZLAC provides 10 banquet tables; all other tables and chairs must be rented. If using the boat apron, renters must provide a barrier to prevent the public from entering the event area.
