Casual Gourmet

The Casual Gourmet is a varied food service company specializing in Cape Cod weddings that is locally owned and run. Our skilled crew has a total event planning experience of more than 70 years and can assist our clients with anything from a continental breakfast for ten to a lavish wedding for 300. We are delighted to be one of Cape Cod's largest, oldest, and most successful caterers, with a diverse clientele that includes renowned enterprises and charity groups. Olive Chase started the Casual Gourmet in a small Centerville storefront in 1986. The first shop, which sold a variety of gourmet treats, was an instant popularity, but off-premise catering quickly became the business's cornerstone. Olive had been renowned as "the" caterer to contact for a memorable occasion with perfect service, signature style, and imaginative and delectable food by 1991, when the Casual Gourmet relocated into a larger location. The Casual Gourmet purchased the former Hearth n' Kettle Bakery property in Centerville in 2006, more than tripling the size of our commissary and adding a line of special occasion cakes and pastries to our menu. The Chase family, who have lived on Cape Cod since the beginning, owns and operates The Casual Gourmet and The Casual Gourmet Express. Their ancestors may be traced back to Thomas Rogers, who arrived on Cape Cod with the Mayflower. Olive is the show's director, with over 30 years of expertise in catering and event production, as well as 30 years in restaurant and culinary service. Olive supervises three Express sites, two food service contracts, our main bakery and cafe, and a catering enterprise that prepares and hosts more than 100 weddings each year as the owner and president of The Casual Gourmet.
