Based in Newburyport, Massachusetts, we strive to create timeless and classic weddings all over New England: from the Maine coast to the heart of Boston to the mountains in New Hampshire to the oceans on Cape Cod. Wedding days are more than just work for us; We handle and plan each wedding, as if it were our own because we understand this day is a memory. It should be cherished and couples should be able to be present, in the moment, without worrying about outside stress. Katydyd Events was created and founded on passion. We love what we do. We understand how much trust you place in our hands to plan your day and we do not take that for granted. GET TO KNOW KATIE Katie O'Neil Smith is lead planner and owner of Katydyd Events. She had a degree in hospitality and tourism and has been in the wedding industry for over 10 years. She has owned her business for 8 years and helped over 100 couples celebrate their big day! She loves helping couples truly ENJOY their wedding from the time you wake up on your wedding day to the last dance of the night, we want you to be present and cherish each moment. When she is not helping couples plan their weddings, she is either re-reading Harry Potter, getting lost in the Wizarding world. OR she is spending time walking her pup, Lincoln, her Bernese mountain dog who also doubles as KDE's mascot. OR she is enjoying a glass of red wine watching stand-up comedy with her husband, Jimmy.

When you’re a newly engaged bride and groom in the process of potentially hiring a wedding planner, the pink elephant in the room can come down to cost. This can seem like a large number but hiring a wedding planner is an investment; it truly is more than just an exchange of money! Any client who hires me is making an investment in me just like my team and I are making an investment in you. We suggest a wedding planner accounts for 10-12% of your budget (event management 6% of your budget) Head over to our services page to see where our pricing begins for each collection here. Our comprehensive collections begin at $10,000 (dependent on guest count) which includes the collections: Design and Event Management, Partial Planning and Full Service. Our average couple spends between $12,000 and $15,000. Event Management is ideal for couples who have found a full service venue & assembled a professional vendor team, and require management of their wedding. They need help prior to the wedding and on the day to ensure a seamless event. This investment begins at $4,000.
