Mighty Orq

One of the most remarkable and hard-working artists in the state of Texas is known as The Mighty Orq. Orq has a voice that is just as multifaceted and one-of-a-kind as his hometown of Houston, where he was born. Songs from a wide variety of musical styles, such as folk, blues, jazz, rock & roll, and even with some zydeco influences are included in his live performances. Orq has long been known as a standout singer and guitarist, but as can be heard on his 2016 release, "Love In A Hurricane," and as a solo performer on his 2019 album "Solo at the Bugle Boy," a live album recorded at the famous central Texas listening room and released on YAWP Records, he has also matured both as a writer and arranger. Orq established a live streaming series called The Stay at Home Sessions during the epidemic, which allowed him to continue playing even when he was sick. Fans of Mighty Orq made the performance series a regular tradition, and it brought in legendary figures from Texas music such as SHINYRIBS and Guy Forsyth, as well as the New Orleans harmonica prodigy Jason Ricci. Orq is now recording a new album that is scheduled to be released in the year 2023, and he is continuing to play across the region.
