Nine Swords Design

Nine Swords Design is wild art, inspired by place, community, and natural law. I create expressive, dynamic pieces that evolve with time. My materials are tough, and built for change: branches, grasses, native botanicals, driftwood, living plants. My work is a reflection of our landscape. It lives and dies, in constant motion — each arrangement exists anew each day. I came to floral design through gardening, herbalism, and plant medicine, and my work is inspired by the healing power of wild nature and the seasonal beauty of the Bay Area. I love working with unexpected and under-appreciated materials, and use foraged, local, and sustainable ingredients whenever I can.
