The Sweet Lobby specializes in French macarons, madeleines, éclairs, shortbread, canelés, and more, and is noted for both classic and globally influenced flavor renditions. Dr. Winnette McIntosh Ambrose, owner of The Sweet Lobby, is an engineer who balances her work in vision research with owning and operating The Sweet Lobby. Winnette won Food Network's Cupcake Wars show just months after it debuted. Winnette is a self-taught pastry chef who creates beautiful treats by combining her passions for science, travel, and baking. Winnette graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a master's degree in French, as well as a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Winnette is passionate about adding fantastic flavor into everything that comes out of The Sweet Lobby's kitchens, citing both her technical background and her global exposure. She has educated The Sweet Lobby's bakers, with whom she collaborates on a regular basis, to create daring new taste incarnations, such as goat cheese – caramelized pear and hot curry mango, alongside classic kinds.
