She was born and reared in Maui, where she learned to make lei and was surrounded by Hawaii's flowery backdrop and rich culture. However, once she understood that nearly any flower, plant, or animal found in our environment might be utilized to construct lei, she began experimenting and hasn't stopped since. She discovered a way that pays attention to the craft's legacy while also creating a modern vision for lei by stepping outside her comfort zone of typical lei flowers. Lauren's goal is to raise awareness of the natural world wherever she goes.
