Heisen House Vineyards
28005 NE 172nd Ave, Battle Ground, WA 98604, USA- Spaces for 150 Guests
Heisen House Vineyards is a small, family-run winery and cidery set on a historic property in Battle Ground, Washington, just outside Portland. The winery makes its wines and hard ciders on site using a natural, minimal-intervention approach — wild ferment, cellar aging, and no chemical additions — and draws fruit from estate vines grown on the property (Gamay Noir, Gewürztraminer, Tempranillo, and Orange Muscat) alongside grapes and apples sourced from Clark County, the Columbia Gorge, and Eastern Washington. The grounds are set up for lingering: guests can sip a sampler flight or a glass or bottle of wine or cider while relaxing among the property's seating areas, hammocks, firepits, and grassy lawns, with leashed dogs welcome. Visitors can bring their own picnic or choose from the winery's prepackaged snacks, and the surrounding area offers nearby hiking, biking, rivers, waterfalls, and lakes for making a full day of it. Beyond regular tastings, Heisen House Vineyards rents its site for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, fundraisers, birthdays, and other private gatherings, pairing its historic country setting with house-made wine and cider for guests hosting a celebration.
Darrington Community Center
570 Sauk Ave, Darrington, WA 98241, USA- Spaces for 250 Guests
Darrington Community Center has served as the gathering place for this remote Washington town since 1954, when it was built with donated time, skill, and materials from residents of the Darrington area. Owned by the Town of Darrington and managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, the center houses a gymnasium, a meeting room, and a full kitchen, and hosts weddings, bridal and baby showers, family reunions, potlucks, tribal meetings, and memorial gatherings alongside the community's regular sporting events. Generations of volunteers have kept the building in service, from new gym flooring and updated electrical and HVAC systems to a modern projection system. In 2017, the Board restored the center's exterior to its original color using footage from the 1980 film "High Ice," which had documented the building's early appearance. The center also serves as a designated Red Cross emergency shelter for the surrounding community.

The barn's 1,000-square-foot reception hall connects to a 640-square-foot covered deck and opens onto roughly an acre of lawn, where a canopied arbor hosts outdoor ceremonies and a fire pit and 20-by-20-foot concrete dance floor extend the space further outside. The Phinney Neighborhood Association occupies a campus of two historic Seattle school buildings — the Blue Building, built in 1904, and the Brick Building, built in 1917 — along with the nearby Greenwood Senior Center, and because the organization's mission centers on fostering an inclusive, welcoming community, its rooms are rented out by the hour to host everything from meetings and classes to private parties and celebrations. Since both campuses are ADA-accessible with elevators and offer free on-site parking, groups of nearly any size can move easily between spaces, from small classrooms that seat up to 35 people to the Community Hall, a 2,336-square-foot room with sprung bamboo flooring, a stage with podium, and seating for up to 135 guests (150 standing), and the Greenwood Room, which accommodates up to 200 seated guests beneath its accordion dividing wall and projection screen. Because the association hosts nearly 800 community activities each year across these same rooms, renters booking an event here are stepping into buildings that already anchor daily community life in Northwest Seattle.

Port of Allyn
18560 WA-3, Allyn, WA 98524, USA- Spaces for 500 Guests
Port of Allyn has anchored this stretch of Hood Canal since 1921, when residents voted to build a dock and give their small North Mason community a proper waterfront gathering place. The port district that grew from that vote now covers most of North Mason, including Allyn and Belfair, with the town of Victor joining in 1973. At the center of it all is Allyn Waterfront Park, a recreational green space that's open to the public, with views of the water free to take in any day of the week. For weddings and private events, the park's gazebo is the centerpiece: 204 feet around with a dance floor built into the middle, a 17-foot ceiling at its peak, and eleven round tables with benches inside. There's no cap on guest count, and hosts are free to choose their own caterer and entertainment. A downstairs room with a sink, counter, and refrigerator gives the wedding party a place to get ready, and rental includes keys to the restrooms, power for the gazebo, and dumpster access, so there's nowhere offsite to haul the garbage. Nearby, North Shore Dock adds nightly and winter moorage with electrical hookups on Hood Canal, and Allyn Kayak Park offers a sandy beach and water access for guests who want to explore the shoreline before or after the celebration.
