The Lowcountry coastal scenery, which glitters on the border of the Atlantic Ocean, offers a plethora of marine forests, marshes, beaches, and rivers ripe for exploration. Built in 1816, the Regency Villa–style McBee House was a private residence until Ashley Hall purchased it in 1909. The school's seashell house, which was once an exotic bird aviary, is a one-of-a-kind feature on the campus. All of the facilities are wheelchair accessible.     Harborside East is a waterfront venue located on Patriot's Point in Charleston and is considered to be the best in the city. Inside, the contemporary building boasts marble accents, sophisticated lighting, and panoramic views of the Ravenel Bridge, which is a landmark in the city. With four waterfront ceremony locations and a banquet facility with ample space for dancing, cocktails, and conversation, Harborside can accommodate weddings of all sizes. Your guests will be able to enjoy drinks while taking in the views of the harbor from the stainless steel indoor and outdoor bars. The banquet hall is made more spacious by the use of floor-to-ceiling glass windows. After 11 p.m., all amplified music must be turned off in public places. After 9 p.m., all outdoor amplified music must be turned off. If necessary, we can close off a portion of our patio with exterior flaps that can be lowered from the outside. It is necessary to have a LICENSED day of event coordinator. Neither a member of the wedding party nor a guest at the wedding may be this individual. A month before the event, they must provide a copy of their driver's license and meet with the venue manager to sign our coordinator agreement. Requests for recommendations for coordinators will be gladly accommodated by the venue. The host is required to provide Harborside with a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $500,000 (minimum), with Harborside East named as an additional insured party on the policy.

    For groups of 40 to 80 people, the entire restaurant can be reserved for the evening. Depending on the day and time of year, food and beverage minimums range from $14,000 to $25,000. A cocktail party can accommodate groups of 80-100 people, however a seated meal can only accommodate 80 people. Unfortunately, groups of 21-40 people cannot be accommodated. Because the patio is not an all-weather patio, it cannot be hired or reserved, and its availability cannot be guaranteed. Michael Toscano, a co-founder, grew up wanting to be a professional golfer but discovered his passion for cooking while working at a golf club in high school. Michael won a scholarship to attend an American Culinary Federation Apprenticeship held by North Carolina's legendary Pinehurst Resort, rather than pursue a golf career. He relocated to New York City after graduating and worked at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery before landing a job as a sous chef at Mario Batali's Babbo at the age of 21. Michael was named executive chef at Eataly's Manzo, the Italian food mecca's fine-dining restaurant, after four years at the famed restaurant. He opened Perla, a modern Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, as the Chef/Owner in 2012, and it has garnered numerous honors, including Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America, New York Times Two Stars, and Time Out New York Best Italian Restaurant. Michael eventually took over the kitchens at Jeffrey's Grocery, a seafood restaurant, and Montmartre, a modern French cafe, both of which are part of Happy Cooking Hospitality. Michael has been named a "New York Rising Star" by StarChefs.com, a Zagat 30 Under 30 semifinalist, and a semifinalist in the James Beard "Rising Star Chef" competition. He is also a member of the Williams Sonoma Chefs' Collective. Michael and his wife Caitlin came to Charleston, South Carolina with their two children Julian and Marley in the summer of 2015 to begin the next chapter of their lives. Caitlin Toscano, Farfalle’s other co-founder, grew up in the Pennsylvania mountains and moved to the sandy beaches of Miami when she was 16 years old. She has been a dedicated member of the hotel sector since graduating from Johnson and Wales University with a culinary arts degree, and she has been driven from the start. It was only the beginning when she finished her externship at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, where she met Michael. Executive Chef Bob Cook's menu includes bar appetizers, house-made charcuterie, small dishes, heartier meals, and modernized versions of classic desserts. The Library is a secluded, intimate rectangular area located near the main dining room's kitchen. It can easily seat 32 people and can hold up to 45 people standing. The Library includes a wall of windows with velvet curtains that may be drawn to provide as much or as little seclusion as desired. The Library is the only event area with a television screen and audiovisual capabilities, making it perfect for business meetings. Private dinners, happy hours, bridal/baby showers, lectures, wine/beer tastings, and more can all be held in this area. This open timber-framed structure is the perfect setting for a wide range of events and celebrations. For seated dinners of up to 100 persons, long wooden community tables are available. The space is also great for parties and activities that can spill over onto the courtyard. Up to 200 persons can stand throughout the full space. The Bower is an extremely versatile venue that can accommodate events ranging from a corporate happy hour to a 100-person seated dinner to a frenetic dance floor. For hot days, there are fans, and for winter evenings, there are industrial ceiling heaters. Optional screens are available on both sides of The Bower for seclusion and intimacy. A full walkup bar is included in the Bower. When you rent out the entire restaurant, you get all of the rooms. It provides for a decent cocktail hour outside before guests arrive for dinner for rehearsal dinners. John's parents got him a New Braunfels smoker for his birthday around this time, and he began dabbling in Austin's long-standing backyard BBQ culture. He immediately began to experiment with the design and construction of both his smokers and his meats in order to achieve a better result. After spending time in Denver developing his skills on the competition barbecue circuit, John returned to Austin to assist his buddy Aaron Franklin with the opening of Franklin Barbecue, and then joined with LeAnn Mueller to open the much-loved La Barbecue. John went to the Holy City in March 2015 with his smokers to introduce the Lowcountry to the amazing world of Texas BBQ.
