  Scott has been a chef for the last 18 years and has worked at various restaurants in New York City that have earned a Michelin star. Some of these places include Jean-Georges flagship restaurant on Columbus circle and Charlie Palmer's Aureole. His most recent position was as executive chef at Sutton Inn, where he was awarded two Michelin recommendations, a four-star rating from the Daily News, and was named one of Manhattan's top 10 American restaurants by OpenTable for five years in a row. In 1971, we constructed the first version of this home on property that belonged to the family... I have been a permanent resident of this area ever since that time. In 1989, we completely refurbished the home and expanded on to it in order to turn it into a seven-room inn that is light, clean, and spacious. The structure has always had an expansive covered wrap-around porch on the east and north sides. This porch, combined with the other common spaces and lawns, provides sufficient room for visitors to enjoy an evening of unhurried activity. As a result of our location at the very western tip of the island, we are privy to some of the most breathtaking scenery, panoramas, beach breezes, and sunsets in all of Martha's Vineyard.

  In addition to being a National Historic Landmark, the Lyman Estate, also known as "the Vale," is considered to be one of the finest examples of a country estate built in the style of eighteenth-century English naturalistic design in the United States. For his family's residence in 1793, shipping merchant Theodore Lyman commissioned renowned architect Samuel McIntire to design and construct a Federal-style residence. The house was first expanded in the Victorian style in 1882, and then remodeled in the Colonial Revival style in 1917, under the direction of the family. The thirty-seven-acre property includes gardens that have been meticulously preserved as well as historic greenhouses. During a tour of the mansion, which is now a wedding and corporate event venue, you can learn about the history of the Lyman family.   Steeple Hall occupies the second floor of Mission Oak Grill, housed in a converted Baptist church in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts. The building dates to 1805, and its cathedral ceilings, stained glass details, and floor-to-ceiling windows give the space a character suited to weddings and private celebrations. A 2002 renovation preserved the historic architecture while adding contemporary updates including new flooring, a refreshed bar, and a greenery wall. With capacity for up to 180 seated guests, Steeple Hall is the only wedding venue in Newburyport able to host that size of event comfortably. The space scales from 25-person corporate meetings to full receptions, and accommodates cocktail parties and private dinners of various sizes in between. Michael Smolak, the farm's owner, was present during his Aunt Willie's wedding on the farm when he was two years old. The farm has roots that date back as far as 4500 years, to the time when Native Americans originally settled on the property.
