  Meetinghouse is a 5,000 square foot exhibition and event space in the penthouse of the 1920s Historic Huntington Building. Featuring double-height, 14-foot ceilings, original windows with exceptional views of Downtown Miami, polished concrete floors and a full kitchen. It can seat 350 people, 450 standing. ​Meetinghouse is an interdisciplinary artistic and cultural space located in the historic Huntington building in downtown Miami. Inspired by past artist cooperatives such as Roycroft, Bauhaus, and the Shakers, we were founded in 2014 to further the discovery, dialog and expression across disciplines.Our programming includes exhibitions, lectures, screenings, performances, and printed materials and catalogs, bringing together local, national and international artists and designers based on shared processes and concepts observed in their works. A current event being hosted is Retreat and Relocation: A Colloquium on Climate Migration. Artists described the event in this way: As the land shifts, quakes, and floods with increasing frequency, it is evident that current modes of adaptation and mitigation are increasingly short-lived. Given the reality of time-limited approaches, as well as eventual reductions in both geography and investment, the Colloquium will consider retreat as a viable spatial alternative, with consideration of what is needed for design and policy to accommodate this possibility. Understanding that engineering and design models have established a leading theme for the last decade of discussion and planning in relation to climate change responses across communities, this Colloquium seeks to expand this framework to engage in a discussion of retreat applying a community-based focus. A panel discussion will provide an introduction to global strategies and policy analysis, and a facilitated discussion will enable local leaders to discuss applications in their own communities. The goal of this gathering is to open avenues of collaboration to explore new opportunities to evaluate conditions and impacts, and develop proactive strategies for facilitating retreat. Meetinghouse also hosts pop up events. ​On August 19th, meetinghouse and Ground Control Miami activated a three-day pop-up shop to support future programming, as well as bringing some summer revenue to the participating artists. Their goal was to support the scene by collaborating with the local artists and to create the financial means to produce cutting-edge exhibitions, performances, and publications with no costs to the artists or audience.

Bakehouse Art Complex, located in a former industrial Art Deco-era bakery, was founded in 1985 by and for artists to provide studio residencies, infrastructure, and community to enable the highest level of artistic creativity, development, and collaboration for the most promising talent. In total, there are approximately 100 resident and associate artists working at the Bakehouse, who come from a wide range of different backgrounds. There is a wide variety of media and practices represented in their work, ranging from painting to performance, from the traditional to the experimental. It is one of the oldest artist-serving organizations in Miami, with studios of various sizes, two galleries, a classroom, print room, photography lab, ceramics facilities, and woodworking and welding areas among other amenities. These spaces, which are otherwise unavailable to artists outside of university campuses, have enabled and continue to enable artists to work, create, discover, learn, and share their practices and work with one another and the broader community, as well as with other artists. In its current stage of development, Bakehouse is aiming to play a more critical role in the collective efforts to create a strong and sustainable ecosystem in Miami that will allow artists and the arts to thrive in their respective fields.   I was born in Israel in July of 1971. I never imagined having my lifetime passion as an actual career. I have enjoyed a varied and successful career in business, real estate and banking; converting several ideas into living companies and products. After 20 years of mainstream existence, I took my passion out of the basement. “ManySkin” was a last minute exhibition during Miami Art Basel 2015, and was an expose of ‘difference in same’. Display fashion mannequins were provided to several artists (photographers, painters, sculptors, graffiti artists) and the only guideline was to cover the lifeless, sexy bodies with anything but clothes. The resulting exhibition, shown at the LAAM Latin America Art Museum and supported by Gary Nader, was a travel through society and beauty. It proved to be an exciting experience for artist and patrons alike. Scenario Gallery has also encouraged and supported my first commercial solo exhibition and showing of my collection. ​ The magic of color and its monotone desire to morph and blend is a gift I enjoy more than anything. A timeline of my artwork from my first painting 20 years ago, to the recent pieces in this collection show a true growth and change. Just as in life, as experiences collect, the highs and lows impact, and the self slowly and uniquely becomes the now. ​ ​Shortly After Miami Art Basel week I went to Israel to visit my children and during New Years Eve I spent the night playing with fire and Photography, the outcome was magical. ​ Today all I want to do is create! Create is beauty with love. I bless every piece with the word Amen, as I humbly know that while the creations may have come from my hands, it is the guidance of the light that allows me to reflect into my art the wave movement that you see on my final pieces. That is what inspires me and allows me to continue to express how I feel through my creations. This is the home for Wynwood artists to display their art. This space was designed around the energy of four words that guide and inspire the artist being Create Art Love and Fashion. This 2700sf gallery also serves as an event venue for up to 220 people.
