    As residents of Splendora, we believed that our small, gorgeous East Texas town lacked a distinctive attraction that would suit the wedding and event needs of our local and adjacent communities. We established Splendora Wedding and Event Center in response to this need. The need for an event hall that can host weddings of all sizes in our area has long been recognized, and couples in our area no longer have to travel an hour (or more) to the nearest large city.     Larry and Karen began to dream about magnificent vineyards and possibly even creating wine while traveling around Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, and other exotic locations. When Wild Stallion Vineyards was founded in 2009, that goal became a reality! In 2008, Wild Stallion Vineyards planted a small test site of Blanc du Bois grapes, a variety of the widespread Vitis vinifera that is best suited to the Gulf Coast environment. Blanc des Bois grapes create a dry, fruity wine that has received numerous national and international prizes. We currently have nearly three acres of trees planted, and they are doing fantastically! We planted two more acres directly adjacent to the Event Center in the spring of 2015 to provide our guests a closer look at the vines.     The Bowden’s mission of “giving back to the community” is to provide events with a greater sense of meaning and purpose. The Bowden is a first-class event venue nestled amongst trees, richly appointed with floor to ceiling windows, 31′ high ceilings, and elegant crystal chandeliers. Profits of all events held at The Bowden will benefit The Greater Keller Women’s Club Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
