Union Springs is an East Texas wedding and event location. It is situated on 33 acres of land surrounded by magnificent woodlands. It gives the appearance of a rustic western horse barn, yet it also features modern facilities for brides. The barn is 5000 square feet and can comfortably seat 250 people. There are two covered porches with seating for another 65 people. A bride's dressing room with her own restroom and vanity space is available in the barn. There is also a separate dressing room for the groom. The unusual Dutch doors on the front of the barn provide a separate entrance for each dressing room. A catering kitchen is located adjacent to the buffet area. Your caterer can utilize the commercial refrigerator, warming cabinet, ice machine, and prep tables in the kitchen. Established in 1859 by William and Mary Menger on Alamo Plaza, the Menger Hotel is the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975. The hotel began as a two-story, fifty-room property built to house guests of Menger's adjoining brewery, and grew through a series of additions, including the 1881 acquisition by Major J.H. Kampmann, who added new wings and the hotel's famed cherry-wood bar, modeled after the taproom of London's House of Lords Club.
