With its four-generation tradition of cuisine and service, the venue is the ideal complement to any elegant social, charitable, or corporate event. This Italian neo-Renaissance inspired masterpiece, designed by architect Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921, boasts 65 foot high ceilings, soaring marble columns, and magnificent inlaid floors. The Cunard Building was designed by architect Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921. The grandly presented maritime theme emphasizes the power and reach of the Cunard Line when its new headquarters opened in 1919, at a time when New York had grown to become the world's largest city and busiest port, as well as the world's largest city and busiest port. After passing through the opulent vestibule and great hall, which was inspired by ancient Roman baths and where transatlantic voyages on liners like the Queen Mary and the two Queen Elizabeths were booked, visitors are greeted by a grand staircase. Larger events can be accommodated in a number of private rooms. The menu has meals that take some artistic license in addition to regional Italian cookery. A array of little morsels called aperitivi is served before the main course, antipasti, two pasta courses, and desserts. A condensed 5-course menu is available for $195 per person or the full 7-course menu costs $245.
