William Way LGBT Community Center is a community hub in Philadelphia's Gayborhood, housed in a building that formerly served as the Engineer's Club of Philadelphia. The organization traces back to 1975, when it was incorporated as the Gay Community Center of Philadelphia, and it has occupied its current home at 1315 Spruce Street since 1997, when the building was renovated and renamed in honor of Bill Way, a longtime supporter who died in 1988. Its building includes a grand lobby gallery, a 14,000-volume lending library, LGBTQ+ history archives, and a Transgender Resource Center that opened in 2019.
