  Mayfield Park - Cottage and Gardens is a 23-acre historic property in Austin, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its centerpiece is a white cottage built between 1860 and 1880 and purchased in 1909 by Allison Mayfield, a former Texas Secretary of State and Railroad Commission chairman, whose family added the cottage's porches and a stone-and-wood pergola patio. Just under two acres of walled garden surround the cottage, with water lily and lotus ponds enclosed by antique rock walls, 32 volunteer-tended garden beds, and the largest stand of Sabal Texana palm trees north of the Rio Grande. Free-roaming peafowl, descended from birds gifted to the park in 1937, along with herons, koi, and turtles, share the grounds. The property hosts small private gatherings, including weddings, baby showers, proposals, and memorial services, as well as meetings, lectures, classes, and small retreats. Up to 45 guests may gather inside the cottage, with a maximum of 100 guests total across the cottage and gardens.   The Queen Anne Victorian home that was built in 1899 and is known as the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House is considered to be the most preserved of its kind in the region. This exquisite Victorian masterpiece of a little over 5,000 square feet was constructed by English architect Howard Messer for Galveston widow Mrs. George Ball (Sarah) and her son Frank in 1899. The home was built high on a hill overlooking the Trinity River. At a time when the typical cost of a dwelling was between $2,000 and $4,000, the construction of the house came to $38,000. The house has had just three different families live in it over its entire existence, and it has seen very few changes since it was first built. There are towers, gables, copper finials, a slate tile roof, and a porch made of red sandstone and marble on the late Victorian facade. The elegant interior has its original wood mantles, cornices, paneling, coffered ceilings, and parquet flooring. The McFarland House was declared as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1979, as well as Fort Worth's second Historic and Cultural Landmark in 1980. In 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1980, it was certified as such by the state of Texas.

  The Student Union at Hubbard Hall serves as the hub of student and campus activities at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Housed in one of the busiest buildings on campus, the facility includes 25 meeting rooms, the 295-seat Bridges Auditorium, and two large ballrooms suited to receptions, banquets, and conferences of varying scale. The Southwest Ballroom is the building's largest event space, seating up to 640 guests banquet-style or accommodating up to 1,000 in a theater configuration, and can also be divided into Southwest Ballroom A and Southwest Ballroom B for smaller gatherings. The Southeast Ballroom offers a more intimate setting for banquets and meetings. Beyond its ballrooms and auditorium, the Student Union also houses an art gallery, performance center, meditation room, and several retail dining options. Chartwells serves as the Student Union's exclusive caterer, operating out of the on-site Pioneer Kitchen. Conference Services, based in the building, manages reservations for weddings, conferences, and private and public events held at Hubbard Hall.
