The Mill Valley Community Center is located in Southern Marin County, just 6.6 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, and 7.2 miles south of San Rafael. The Community Center opened its doors in April 2001. Our award winning facility offers a perfect environment for any occasion, with a main event space that can accommodate banquet-style seating for up to 285 guests and theater seating for 400. Smaller rooms, throughout the Center are ideal for classes, meetings, workshops and seminars. The center is designed as two buildings, the first of which is comprised of a large, reception hall, teen and senior centers, meeting spaces, and activity rooms. The second building is dedicated to swimming and fitness and includes an indoor swimming pool with retractable roof, a 120-foot spiral water slide, Jacuzzi spa, and outdoor patio. Nick's Cove sits along the shores of Tomales Bay in Marshall, California — a historic coastal property with roots stretching back to 1931, when Nick and Frances Kojich converted a former herring curing facility into a waterfront gathering place serving travelers, fishermen, and sportsmen from across California. Today, the property preserves that original character while offering modern amenities, operating as a destination restaurant, lodging retreat, and private event venue along Highway One in West Marin. Four distinct indoor and outdoor spaces accommodate gatherings ranging from intimate private dining of 24 guests on the Waterfront Lounge patio to full-property buyouts of up to 120 guests, incorporating the entire restaurant and outdoor areas. 888 BANQUET & EVENT SPACE: China Live is an interactive culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to San Francisco's Chinatown, offering a comprehensive look into Greater Chinese cuisine. Our goal is to demystify Chinese ingredients and cuisine while also educating guests about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. China Live can accommodate small gatherings of 10 individuals to large reception-style events with up to 825 people and many sensory experiences. MARKET RESTAURANT: Our first-floor restaurant offers a seasonal menu that changes daily and is prepared at eight specialized stations that combine traditional Chinese and Western culinary technology. A major dining space serves as the focal point, with handcrafted seats and tables made from reclaimed Chinese elm in China. These exhibition kitchens, which have plenty of bar seating, allow you to get a closer look at the skilled chefs at work. The wok station combines European and Chinese flair, with a state-of-the-art Hestan range on one side and an extensive custom-designed wok line by Joe Yick, a third-generation family business in San Francisco, on the other. The charcuterie station features a deep wood-fired oven, similar to a pizza oven in concept, but serving classic roast duck and chicken instead. DESIGN: A Chinese clay oven, similar to an Indian tandoor, is a three-foot tall receptacle resembling an enormous vase that sustains low heat over charcoal fire for an extended period of time, suitable for low and slow roasting pork. The property comprises three historic structures relocated from the East Coast: an 18th-century New Hampshire barn/farmhouse, a West Virginia timber home, and a Tennessee Appalachian cabin, each disassembled, shipped cross-country, and reassembled using original construction techniques. The main house spans 3,600 square feet; a 600-square-foot guest house sits on the same grounds. The farmhouse accommodates boutique gatherings, rustic weddings, anniversary celebrations, family reunions, and milestone birthdays. Indoor entertaining fits 25–50 guests; the expansive decks and meadows accommodate 25–75 guests outdoors. The Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center is a City of Oakdale facility located at 450 E A Street in Oakdale, California. The center serves seniors 55 and older, offering free or low-cost programs including leisure activities, educational opportunities, fitness classes, art instruction, nutritional lunch, and social events. Available for weekend rentals, the center accommodates up to 150 guests for dining events and up to 200 for assembly-style gatherings. Rentals are reserved for senior events and activities — such as celebration of life ceremonies and senior birthday parties — and are coordinated through the City of Oakdale Recreation Office at (209) 845-3571. The center publishes a monthly newsletter and operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for its regular senior programming.
