    Lonesome Rose

2101 N California Ave, Oak Park, IL 60647, USA

Lonesome Rose, a 'borderlands' idea concentrating on the rich cultural history of the regional states of northern Mexico and the southwestern United States, is the perfect private dining spot. Lonesome Rose is an accessible, imaginative take on the best of these border regions, opening early and staying open (very) late. With an open and airy area, wood elements, and a lot of plants for design, the vibe is reminiscent of southern California. While a border may separate two countries, their histories have long been linked, informing and influencing one another across generations. This is most visible in the drinking and eating habits of the regions, where products, recipes, and skills have been passed down down the generations, improving with each passing. We celebrate and explore this intriguing history with Lonesome Rose's carefully thought out dishes and beverages that focus on the flavors shared by these two places. Every day, we welcome you to join us for breakfast, lunch, supper, and drinks. Whether you’re walking in with a small group or joining us for a private dining experience, you’re bound to fall in love with Lonesome Rose. “A little taste of Austin in Chicago! $3 tacos with fresh tasty ingredients, including beloved breakfast tacos, yes please! Perfect salsa trio, a fresh guac and a fun choco taco dessert too. Top notch mixologist drinks as well. Clean cut open decor with plants and simple wood. I mean even the napkins are super cute. We hear there’s a summer roof deck in the works and can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town.” -Agnes S.

To succeed in a competitive and demanding environment, you must put in a lot of effort. In 2007, Chicago had a few unusual loft and warehouse event spaces. There are now more than fifty. In 2007, REC pioneered a new method by offering on-site catering and event planning services in a fully refurbished print warehouse and production facility. Our method has now become the standard for independent event services in Chicago. We never stop improving and getting better, which is what makes REC relevant and in demand. While traditional elements of service and design never go out of style, REC uses current and global ideas to create menus and one-of-a-kind event experiences. BILLBOARD FACTORY LOFT & ATRIUM The Atrium, arguably Chicago's most spectacular wedding ceremony and cocktail event location, was once a workshop for giant advertising billboards in the early twentieth century. The Atrium, perched atop the Ravenswood Event Centers' Loft & Showroom spaces, looks down onto Ravenswood, Chicago's classic neighborhood. The Atrium becomes much more than a location to get married and dance with views of the Hancock, El, and Metra lines, it becomes a reflection of why so many people call Chicago home. The Event Center's Loft level is a traditional Chicago industrial loft. The Loft, with its rough-hewn wood flooring, timber beams, and centuries-old brick, can accommodate big parties for dining and celebrations. Our two decks extend our events into the sun and moonshine when the weather is favorable. Wedding ceremonies, corporate receptions, and a dancing lounge are the most common uses for this space. The Atrium can accommodate 180 people for ceremonies, 100 people for a seated supper, and 150 people or more for cocktail parties. The Loft embodies everything that is great about Chicago. Farm-to-table wedding meals, Sunday brunch gatherings, and lively cocktail events benefit from the combination of vintage pine and oak, brick, concrete, and glass. The Loft can seat 180 people in a formal setting and up to 250 in a cocktail setting. BILLBOARD SHOWROOM The Showroom has accommodated rock concerts, hi-tech product launches, great mitzvah celebrations, major fundraising events, and the most wonderful wedding festivities because to its expansive area and high ceilings. The Ravenswood Event Center has accommodated crowds ranging from 150 to 1,000 people. When clients walk into the Showroom for the first time, they frequently exclaim, "Wow!" Industrial printing and binding apparatus the size of tanks formerly occupied our greatest space. It now houses the Hayes neon sign collection as well as one of the world's most rare collections of vintage European and American sports automobiles. The Showroom, with its lofted skylights and ample square footage, lends itself to a wide range of event ideas. Many of the Midwest's most unusual and private conferences, presentations, and holiday celebrations have been held at the Showroom thanks to our corporate and tech clientele.

6300 S. Lake Shore Drive (E. Hayes Drive @ Lake Michigan) is the address for 63rd Street Beach in Jackson Park. This beach offers a wide range of amenities to visitors. Stop by Belly Up for delicious Jamaican cuisine, or Leave With a Smile for snacks and drinks. Restrooms, interactive water fountains, showers, and meeting rooms are all available to beachgoers at the historic beach house. It is possible to rent the beach house. In 1871, the renowned Central Park designers, Olmsted & Vaux, built Jackson Park, as well as the adjacent Midway Plaisance and Washington Park. By 1888, the region had a paved beach built of granite bricks that covered the whole lakefront in Jackson Park. Given that untreated sewage was being poured into Lake Michigan at the time, it's no surprise that the beaches were used as paved walkways for strolling or promenading rather than wading or bathing. When Chicago's ingenious Drainage Canal was completed in 1899 and began transporting sewage to other sites, the lakefront became a popular spot for public swimming. After receiving several requests from South Side residents for larger beaches at the turn of the century, the South Park Commissioners opted to expand the beach sand area. In 1914, they devised a new plan for the landfill, and three years later, the 10-acre beach extension was completed. By 1919, an elegant bathing pavilion had been built near to the beach as part of this concept. The bathing pavilion, now known as the 63rd Street Beach House, was renovated by the Chicago Park District in 2000. The 63rd Street Beach House is a beautiful Classical Revival structure. The remarkable structure was designed by South Park Commission in-house architects. The magnificent exposed-aggregate concrete building, completed in 1919, takes full advantage of Lake Michigan with its open balconies and loggias (ground-level open-air galleries), allowing for lovely lake vistas and nice breezes. Bathrooms and baths, medical facilities, and separate courtyards for men and women with hundreds of wooden changing booths were all given in the past. The open courtyards are now tastefully landscaped places with an interactive water element, rather than wooden booths (made possible by the Max Schiff Foundation).

This 9,000-square-foot venue has two bi-level event suites with magnificent open space that can accommodate up to 450 people. Room43 can handle events ranging from weddings, intimate receptions, and private parties to celebrations, conferences, and workshops; galas, lifestyle events, fashion exhibits, art showings, movies, and performances... The building uses materials and textures that feel like existing textures from the historic North Kenwood/Oakland region, such as exposed brick, natural light, and wood floors, to name a few, fusing elegance with inspiration from natural elements. Separate levels for generating diverse surroundings, including tables, available seats, room set-up, cash bar(s) and bartender(s), multiple exits for each floor, and easy access for cars and load-ins were all considered when designing the Room43 Event Venue. The main event space at ROOM43 in North Kenwood has a spectacular entrance that welcomes guests into an open and spacious room. Exposed brick, hefty timber columns, and hardwood floors showcase the small yet large historic characteristics, which are both industrial and elegant. It has a beautiful basement level with a large prep kitchen. Corporate events, retail pop-ups, holiday parties, weddings, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, non-profit events, and a variety of other celebrations can all be held here. Custom catering and bar packages, customized décor and furniture design, specialized seating configurations, and audio/visual capabilities can help you realize your vision. The regular event package includes six hours of event time, as well as cleanup. Clients are responsible for keeping the Venue clean in a reasonable manner. This includes cleaning and removing all catering, musical, and other equipment from the Venue. Setup time will be two hours prior to the event. By the time specified in the Venue agreement, all events must be completely departed.

    Good Measure

226 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60654, USA

Home to rebellious classic cocktails and Chef Matt Troost's unusual bar cuisine, the bar is housed in what was formerly a turn-of-the-century tailor store with a décor that pays homage to the early days of punk music. No-frills, low-fi neighborhood tavern where everyone is welcome to come as they are and eat, drink, and have a good time in the process. As part of a redevelopment of an old tailor shop from the turn of the twentieth century, the bar offers original versions of classic cocktails made by beverage director Kristina Magro, which are served with chef Matt Troost's cult-inducing, varied bar cuisine. Good Measure was selected one of the 33 Best Bars in Chicago by Conde Nast Traveler in 2019, and it was also awarded one of Chicago's Best Burgers by the Chicago Tribune the same year and again in 2021, according to the publication. A reviving River North neighborhood bar serving up cult-inducing burgers by Chef Matt Troost and the bar's own renditions of classic cocktails, good Measure is an oasis in the midst of the city.
