The Fairfax House is a pre-Civil War Acadiana-style plantation home, built in 1852 and set on a 7-acre property in Franklin, Louisiana, near Bayou Teche. Originally constructed as a family residence, the house takes its name from Fairfax Foster, the last family member to reside there before an extensive restoration brought it to its current condition. Majestic oak trees — many more than a century old — and lush bamboo frame the grounds, while manicured gardens and sweeping porches lend the property a sense of Southern elegance. The venue accommodates a wide range of gatherings, from weddings and receptions to seminars, reunions, business luncheons, dinner parties, showers, retreats, and afternoon tea. In-house catering is available, and the staff coordinates with local photographers, florists, and other vendors to support event planning. West-Cal Arena & Events Center is a dual-purpose event complex in Sulphur, Louisiana, just minutes from Lake Charles. The facility pairs a full-scale indoor arena with a dedicated events center, giving planners the flexibility to host everything from equestrian competitions and livestock shows to galas, concerts, weddings, corporate conferences, and family reunions. The events center anchors the property with the Calcasieu Exhibition Hall — a 14,000-square-foot main hall with a 30-foot open ceiling that seats up to 800 banquet-style or 1,200 theater-style. The hall divides into half or quarter sections for smaller gatherings, and the building also includes modular meeting rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audio and video technology. When it came to revitalizing Zachary's historic area in the spring of 2019, the city council was on the lookout for potential candidates. Danny and Skye Willis, parents of six children and entrepreneurs who lived in St. Francisville, Louisiana, came highly recommended by a friend. They hopped on board with the vision and brought it to a new level of success. ​ The combination of Danny's business background and Skye's experience as a restauranteur, event coordinator, and decorator made an event facility an obvious choice. Denise Ortego, Danny's sister, was immediately enthused by the concept and joined the team as a partner. Denise has a broad professional background, with her most recent position as general manager of a big assisted care facility on her portfolio. Denise carries with her an extraordinary degree of hospitality and attention to detail in every element Magnolia Fields is a beautiful venue for weddings. The Bossier City Civic Center is a municipal event facility in Bossier City, Louisiana, situated off Interstate 20 at LA Highway 3 (Benton Road), just a few miles from downtown Shreveport. The recently renovated building offers 24,000 square feet of flexible exhibition and convention space in its Main Halls — divisible into two 12,000-square-foot halls — plus a 7,500-square-foot Banquet Hall that separates into three configurable rooms: the Bistineau, Cypress, and Bodcau Rooms. A selection of smaller meeting and VIP spaces on the second floor rounds out the facility. Lyons for $18,000 using virgin Louisiana cypress, pine, and oak, the 33,000-square-foot building is a National Historical Landmark recognized for its pressed tin tiles, hand-painted angel medallions, and original architectural detail. For nearly four decades, the venue hosted prominent performers including Enrico Caruso, Clark Gable, and Huey Long before transitioning to film and eventually closing. In 2004, the Gielen family donated the building to a nonprofit organization, and a $4.5 million restoration reopened it in 2008 as a fully functioning performing arts venue. Today the Grand Opera House of the South offers three distinct rental spaces for private events. Le Grand Hall on the first floor accommodates up to 500 guests in one continuous open area, with a full bar, a spacious bride's room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The Grand Ballroom on the third floor is a more intimate setting for approximately 75 guests, with views overlooking renovated Main Street in downtown Crowley — well suited to rehearsal dinners, showers, cocktail parties, and receptions.
