Lake Pleasant Cruises operates The Phoenix, a two-deck charter vessel docked at Pleasant Harbor Marina on Lake Pleasant in Peoria, Arizona. Hidden Lake had developed into a garbage dump for the community and had become a popular location for illegal target practice and hunting, much to the dismay of the couple. The parents of four decided to stop using the lake property and instead focus their energy on rehabilitating the habitat and cleaning up the surrounding area. Their goals were to launch a new movement, promote unplugging from technology, reconnect people with nature, and develop a one-of-a-kind gathering spot for families to spend quality time together. ​ To this day, the Mladick family has cleared more than two hundred and fifty tons of trash, planted more than two hundred and fifty native trees, and installed barriers to prevent trespassers and poachers from despoiling the breathtaking land. Set against open desert landscapes and mountain views, the property evolved from the back of Chilleens on 17 — a well-known local barbecue restaurant — into a dedicated event venue under the ownership of Aleah Chilleen, who acquired and transformed the space beginning in 2016. Two event areas accommodate gatherings of different scales: an indoor banquet hall for up to 80 guests and an outdoor area for up to 200, with a combined maximum capacity of 280. The venue operates as a fully managed experience, with each wedding supported by both an operations coordinator and a day-of coordinator.
