Stribling Barn, built in the 1890s as one of the first brick barns in the state and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The barn's rare bank-barn construction, decorative brick latticework, and jerkinhead roof give the space its distinct rustic-elegant character, with original timber beams and French-pressed brickwork preserved throughout. Weddings, corporate events, and family gatherings take place in the barn and on the adjoining Wedding Green, a garden ceremony space framed by ancient oaks and rolling pasture, with the historic structure as a backdrop. Camp Chatuga sits on 60 acres in the Blue Ridge foothills of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, completely surrounded by the Sumter National Forest, roughly two hours from Atlanta and an hour and a half from Greenville. Founded in 1956 by former Furman University roommates Nield Gordon and Everette Pigg, the property has been run by the Gordon family for more than 30 years and has been accredited by the American Camp Association since 1990. The original farmhouse still stands as the camp's dining hall, and the old cornfield is now a spring-fed private lake used for swimming and canoeing. Beyond its summer camp season, Camp Chatuga opens its grounds to youth and adult groups, churches, weddings, large family gatherings, sports teams, and school clubs for retreats and group events. A covered outdoor lodge with a stage and sound system anchors the property, alongside a dining hall that seats 200 with audio/visual capabilities, a large outdoor council ring with bench seating and a campfire pit, and a smaller campfire pit for more intimate gatherings. Living History Park is a colonial-era recreation village in North Augusta, South Carolina, portraying life from 1735 to 1785 across more than 20 historic structures, including the Willow Spring Meeting House, the Blacksmith Forge, the Spring House Tavern, the Grist Mill, and the Perry Hill Cabin. Founded in 1991 and established in 1993 on the grounds of a former water works, the 7.35-acre park was built through decades of community volunteerism and today operates as a nonprofit, 100% donor- and grant-funded cultural destination. Several of the park's period buildings double as private event spaces. The Colonial Barn seats up to 296 guests indoors, with weddings and receptions expanding to 450 when the doors open to combine indoor and outdoor space. The more intimate Meeting House suits christenings, memorials, lectures, and small weddings for 35 to 40 guests, while the Spring House Tavern comfortably seats 40 for club meetings, luncheons, and holiday parties. The Farmer's Barn, the park's newest addition, offers fireplace-warmed space for outdoor gatherings and can be rented alone or paired with the barn, and The Commons, a grassy central green, hosts outdoor weddings and group events. Rentals include restroom facilities, and the Colonial Barn comes furnished with tables, chairs, and benches. The Peanut Warehouse, located in the heart of Horry County, South Carolina, has a long and illustrious history. It was constructed in 1900 for the purpose of storing tobacco.
