Today the site operates as a living history museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and managed by the Florida Department of State. The grounds feature reconstructed 17th-century structures — including a Franciscan church, Apalachee council house, convento, Spanish residence, and fort — alongside an exhibit gallery holding artifacts recovered from decades of controlled archaeological excavation.
