Set beside Tacoma's Union Station and the Bridge of Glass, the Washington State History Museum turns its downtown campus into an event venue with a rare backdrop: a multi-tiered outdoor amphitheater surrounded by historic architecture, with views of Mount Rainier, the Cascade Mountains, and the Thea Foss Waterway. Indoors, the Grand Lobby's vaulted ceilings, balconies, and natural light offer a more traditional reception space. Ten rentable spaces in total accommodate groups from small board meetings up to 350 guests, including a state-of-the-art auditorium built for conferences and film screenings, and a mezzanine overlooking Union Station with its own catering kitchen access. Every facility rental includes up to two hours of access to the museum's exhibition galleries, so guests can tour the Great Hall of Washington History or the fifth-floor special exhibits before or after an event. Rentals also include tables and chairs, on-site event support and security staff, and use of available audio/visual equipment, with spaces bookable up to two years in advance for weddings, receptions, corporate meetings, and community gatherings.

200 N Quetilquasoon Rd, Manson, WA 98831, USA
    • Spaces for 150 Guests

Evenings at Wapato Point Cellars tend to center on a glass of wine, a plate from the grill, and live music most nights of the week. The winery sits on the shores of Lake Chelan in Manson, Washington, where estate grapes are hand-picked and sorted before the valley's cool climate helps shape them into wine. A daily tasting room pours from noon to 5pm alongside lunch service, while the adjoining wine bar opens with cozy seating and appetizers from Chef Jenny, plus a full lineup of wine, beer, cider, and cocktails after 5pm. The Winemaker's Grill carries the evening forward with dinner starting at 5pm, and a happy hour runs twice daily for guests settling in early. Members of the Wapato Point Cellars wine club return for case releases and club pick-ups, keeping with the winery's long-running motto: Great Wine, Great Food, Great Friends.

    My Little White House

    Seattle, WA, USA

Bring your vision to life in My Little White House, an ideal setting for styled shoots, portrait photography, and other intimate events in addition to other possibilities. My Little White House is a 170 square foot boutique up-cycled studio that is located in a private garden in the West Seattle neighborhood of West Seattle. It was built primarily out of salvaged materials and vintage finds. The Little White House is a little studio that I built out of reclaimed materials and things that I found in dumpsters. It is 170 square feet in size. I didn't even consider constructing a white house or a small house when I came up with the idea. Simply put, I desired a location where I could build a fire during the colder months... Initially, it was only 10 feet by 10 feet, but over time, it expanded, the ceilings got higher, and it evolved into what it is today... People are drawn to the White House, in my opinion, due to the fact that a lot of its furnishings were salvaged from dumpsters or were things that previous owners had thrown away because they no longer wanted them. I believe that the Little White House breathes new life into all of those things in some sense... At the very least, that is what compelled me to construct it. It was the concept of turning things that were thrown away into something attractive and intriguing by giving them a second life in the form of something else entirely.

    Bateau

1040 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122, USA

Bateau, french for ā€œboat,ā€ is both a nod to our first restaurant, Boat Street CafĆ©, as well as an attempt to reimagine the American steak house around quality, sustainability and animal welfare. With the name About Bateau, which comes from the French word for "boat," we're paying homage to our first restaurant, Boat Street CafĆ©, while also attempting to reimagine the American steakhouse in the context of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. Traditional cattle breeds, renowned for their flavor, are the centerpiece of Bateau's whole animal menu. These cattle breeds are selected and owned by Bateau and cared for by Pure Country, a Food Alliance certified ranch located in Moses Lake, Washington. All of our cows are raised in a humane manner, fed only grass, and, most importantly, finished only on pasture. Bateau's beef is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days before being butchered on site by Scott Johnson, the butcher for the restaurant. This is certainly not the quickest, easiest, or most cost-effective method of preparing beef, but we believe it is the most effective. Along with Chef Taylor Thornhill's inventive dishes, which frequently include foraged and fermented ingredients, specialty cuts are sold by the pound or by the quantity of meat available. In addition to steakhouse classics done right, such as twice-fried frites and buttery mashed potatoes, the menu includes iconic cocktails and an extensive bottle list. The service is warm and welcoming while also being refined. Many of the fixtures and furniture pieces from Boat Street CafĆ© have been repurposed in the dining room as a nod to the former location. The rough slate tables, which are now decades old, as well as the 'Jeffry' chalk drawing by artist Curtis Steiner, will be familiar to visitors. In order to express what is happening in our corner of the world and to pay homage to our beginnings at Boat Street CafĆ©, we are attempting to create something new and exciting at Bateau. Wild Ginger Bellevue

11020 NE 6th St, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA
    • Spaces for 130 Guests

Wild Ginger Bellevue sits right on Bellevue Way NE, next door to the Bellevue Arts Museum and just across the street from Bellevue Square mall, in the Lincoln Square South stretch of downtown Bellevue. The restaurant moved into this address in 2017, a smaller footprint than its original Bellevue home at The Bravern, where it first opened in 2009 to mark parent restaurant Wild Ginger's 20th anniversary. Inside, SKB Architects designed the space to blend Asian influences with a more contemporary look, giving the room a casual but still dressed-up feel, with a main dining room, a bar, and private dining space set apart for events. The kitchen, led by Chef de Cuisine Milan Waduge, serves family-style dishes rooted in the cuisines of China and Southeast Asia, the same style Wild Ginger's founders picked up traveling through Malaysia, Burma, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong back in the 1980s. The wine program has drawn recognition for how well it pairs with the menu, and bottles under $100 are half off on Sundays. Private dining and group meals are booked separately from the main dining room, so a party can be as small as an intimate dinner or as large as a bigger group reception.

TAF is a Seattle-based charity that is reinventing K-12 public education for all students and teachers in Washington State, particularly those who identify as people of color and come from traditionally underprivileged regions. The existing public education system was not created with everyone's success in mind, and it simply does not work. To promote learning opportunities and academic accomplishment for underserved kids, we collaborate with public school systems, colleges, community, and corporate partners. Similarly, we provide professional development and a network of support to aspiring teachers and education leaders of color in public schools. Our 360-degree approach to public education provides an opportunity to reverse systematic injustice and make education a place where everyone wins by focusing on equity and using STEM as a tool for social change. Equity is woven into our programs, organization, and style of working, not merely as a foundation of our work. While our programs may change over time to have a better impact, our primary objective of improving public education for students of color remains at the heart of everything we do.
