Hidden View Farm is a 100-acre English country estate set among rolling meadows, mature woodlands, and six distinct garden areas just outside Annapolis in Crownsville, Maryland. Richard Bradshaw and Dr. Michael Pistole have shaped the property over more than 35 years, transforming it from a neglected 40-acre parcel into a lush conservation estate — expanded to over 100 acres and permanently protected through an easement with the Maryland Environmental Trust. The gardens are the heart of the venue, featuring exotic flora, aquatic gardens stocked with koi, a Black Swan Fountain, an Angel Garden, and free-roaming peacocks throughout the grounds. Meadows open to views of the South River headwaters, while the historic Manor House anchors the property with a traditional brick facade and European antiques. Ostertag Vistas is a 164-acre historic farm property tucked in a quiet valley near Myersville, Maryland, 15 minutes from both Frederick and Hagerstown. The grounds include three landmarked structures dating to 1711 — among them a circa-1700s stone pioneer home with a water wheel and a mid-1700s log cottage built by early German settlers — alongside rolling hills, a farm pond, streams, and meadows that attract blue herons, bald eagles, and migrating geese. The centerpiece of the property is a carefully restored 18th-century German Swiss bank barn, known as The Barn. Its 50-foot ceiling, original mortise-and-tenon timber frame held by wooden pegs, three stone fireplaces, and large glass panels looking out over the 164 acres make it the focal point for weddings and receptions. Oliver's Carriage House is a historic event venue set in Columbia, Maryland, within a two-story stone structure that dates to the early 1800s. Originally built as the barn and stables for Oakland, a large Howard County estate, the building was acquired by the Kittamaqundi Community in 1972 and thoughtfully renovated by 1977 — adding new flooring, lofted spaces, finished woodwork, and two stone fireplaces that now anchor both levels. The venue accommodates up to 125 guests and offers a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor settings. Inside, exposed wooden beams, original stone walls, and fireplace surrounds lend a warm and distinctive character that sets it apart from conventional banquet spaces. Hosting an event here at The Stables of Rolling Ridge is a fantastic way to get to know the farm and its surroundings! Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties, corporate retreats, and social gatherings can all be held in the luxury of the countryside at one of the outdoor event sites! Reservations for the farm are accepted from April through November on Sundays through Fridays. The tented reception venue is available for events with a maximum of 60 participants. The price of the reservation includes a tented event venue as well as furnishings for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Beautiful handcrafted wooden ceremonial benches and farm tables are among the furniture options. Prepare for a smaller celebration such as an intimate wedding, elopement, baby shower or birthday with a smaller guest list. Up to 25 guests can be accommodated in the floral shop above the barn, or a workshop-style celebration with Rolling Ridge Floral Design is an option. Workshops and floral shop reservations are available all year round, as are seasonal workshops. Any farm event would benefit from having a favor table in the form of a workshop!
