Located at Town Center in Virginia Beach, the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts opened in November 2007 following six years of planning by the Virginia Beach City Council, which set out to replace the aging 1,000-seat Pavilion Theatre with a larger cultural facility. The center serves as a home for regional and community performing arts organizations and hosts concerts, jazz performances, and theatrical productions throughout the year. Beyond its 1,308-seat main Performance Hall, the center offers several spaces for private events, meetings, and banquets. The Miller Studio Theatre is a 2,200-square-foot rehearsal hall with a sprung floor and ballet bars that converts for cocktail receptions, seated dinners, or theatre-style gatherings. The Bill and Anne Wood Founders Room pairs wood interiors with a private terrace overlooking Town Center, while the center's three marble lobbies, connected by dual staircases and lit by chandeliers, can be rented individually or together for receptions. Two classrooms accommodate smaller meetings, and an 18,000-square-foot outdoor plaza has hosted concerts, weddings, and fundraisers. The center provides a list of preferred caterers for events and offers more than 3,000 free parking spaces with ADA-accessible parking in each lot.

Hungry Mother State Park is one of Virginia's original six state parks, established in 1936 on 3,334 acres of mountain woodland in Marion, Virginia. At its center sits a serene 108-acre lake, framed by hiking trails, a sandy beach, and a boat launch, giving couples and event hosts a mountain-and-water backdrop that's been drawing visitors for nearly a century. The park's Civilian Conservation Corps-era infrastructure, built between 1933 and 1941, earned it a listing in the National Register of Historic Places and still shapes the setting today. For events, the park offers the lakeside Lakeview Event Facility, an amphitheater on a footbridge-accessed island, picnic shelters near the beach and in secluded woodland, and the meeting rooms and sports complex at Hemlock Haven Conference Center. Named for the local legend of a pioneer woman found near the mountain now called Molly's Knob, Hungry Mother pairs its scenic lake and woodland setting with a range of indoor and outdoor spaces suited to weddings, retreats, and gatherings of varying sizes.

Today it operates as a private club built around a 1920s Donald Ross golf course design, a traditional links-style layout that borders the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens along the lake that gives the club its name. For weddings, galas, and private events, the club offers three spaces suited to different gatherings. The Ballroom, the largest, seats up to 180 guests for a plated dinner or up to 200 for a cocktail-style reception, making it the venue's primary space for weddings and large celebrations. The Terrace Room accommodates up to 75 seated guests or 100 for a reception, a fit for mid-sized gatherings, while the Lakeside Room offers a more intimate setting with lake views and seating for up to 25, suited to board meetings or smaller private gatherings. Beyond its event spaces, the club's grounds include three clay tennis courts, a hard-surface court, four pickleball courts, and a junior-Olympic pool with its own poolside bar, amenities available to members and their guests alongside golf and private events.

Its manor house, known as "Sholto," was originally built between 1793 and 1800; the club itself was established in 1923, and in 1929 architect Pendleton S. Clark added a ballroom to the historic structure. The club's 18-hole golf course was designed by Scottish architect Willie Park Jr. and completed by Fred M. Findlay, opening in 1929. Today the club hosts weddings and private events for up to 350 guests, with settings ranging from the brick-and-column manor house front lawn to the Ballroom, described as the club's grandest indoor venue.
