A travel guide from Forbes Café du Parc, a highly recommended restaurant, is a quintessential French brasserie that serves classic French dishes with a modern twist in a relaxed atmosphere. In 1997, Pierre L'Enfant, a French-American engineer, opened Café du Parc as a French restaurant in the Willard InterContinental, which was inspired by the Beaux-Arts architecture of the Willard and the French-inspired design of Washington, D.C. The restaurant's mission was to bring a piece of France back to the Nation's Capital. It is located on Pennsylvania Avenue, across from Pershing Park, a national park that is home to the World War I Memorial, and has been described as being reminiscent of a Parisian-style sidewalk café. The restaurant, which pays homage to traditional French cuisine, provides diners with a variety of culinary options, ranging from coffee and pastries at its coffee shop, Le Café, to breakfast, lunch, and dinner served on the restaurant's outdoor terrace or in the main dining room. A large takeout menu of classic French dishes, cocktails, and desserts is available at Café du Parc for those who prefer to eat while on the go. In addition, every Friday and Saturday, beginning at 5:30 p.m., come out to the terrace and listen to jazz. This Washington, D.C. restaurant is located along Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of the city, between the White House and the United States Capitol Building. Café du Parc is located next to the legendary Willard InterContinental, a landmark hotel with a 200-year history that is within walking distance of many of the city's most notable attractions, including the various monuments, memorials, and museums on the National Mall and the Washington Monument. Café du Parc's seasonal outside terrace, which is surrounded by the sights and sounds of the nation's capital, is widely regarded as one of the best al fresco dining options in the city and is extremely popular with both visitors and locals. Dining in Confined Spaces The Pershing Room is a private room in the Pershing Hotel. The Pershing Private Dining Room, which overlooks the iconic lobby of the historic Willard InterContinental, provides a vibrant and intimate setting that is ideal for any occasion. The Pershing Room at Cafe du Parc is a truly unique space that can accommodate private events for up to 50 people seated, 75 people reception style, and 30 people family style. 322 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002, USA
    • Spaces for 75 Guests

Have you ever fantasized about dining in Berlin in the 1920s? What about relaxing in a Munich Biergarten while sipping on a refreshing Hefeweizen? Perhaps a traditional German breakfast in a mountain village would be appropriate? We may not have the views, but we can save you money on airfare and provide you with a taste of Germany without having to travel. Come join us for dinner in one of our dining rooms designed in the style of the 1920s. Take advantage of the sunshine on our patio or come in for Sunday Brunch with us. You will always be welcomed with open arms at Café Berlin. Café Berlin has established itself as a Capitol Hill institution over the course of nearly three decades. Established in 1985 by two German-born friends who met while working at another local German restaurant, it has remained a popular gathering place for Congressional staffers, neighborhood friends, and tourists alike. Current owners Rico Glage and Clytie Roberts-Glage have maintained this status. Café Berlin boasts the best patio on the Hill, as well as traditional German dishes and seasonal menus made with ingredients sourced from the surrounding area. The late 1980s brought Irene Khashan from near Rothenburg ab de Tauber and Peggy Reed from Lübeck together. The two women became fast friends and decided to take on the challenge of establishing an authentic German restaurant on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. They were able to accomplish this initially without the assistance of any staff, as they did all of the cooking, cleaning, and serving themselves. Despite the fact that the neighborhood was close to the nation's capital, the neighbor at the time was not the best. Although the neighborhood was in the process of being revitalized, it remained a high-crime neighborhood. It went so far as to have a crematorium across the street, which necessitated wiping ash from the entire restaurant every morning before opening. Fast forward to 2007, when Rico Glage arrives from Germany to work for a year at Café Berlin, where Clytie Roberts accepts a position as a server after five years on Capitol Hill.
