A few months into the COVID-19 pandemic, Jarrod Fox and Taylor Lintz decided they wanted to bring back the joy of entertainment that the Williamsburg community was lacking. Taking inspiration from an outdoor movie theater, Jarrod figured if people can get together and socially distance themselves to watch a movie, he could find a way to make the same thing happen with a bar. His idea, TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar, grew larger as he approached a number of venues with the concept. Taylor then quit her full-time day job to take over operations and help invest in the bar, and the rest is history. TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar was made with COVID-19 in mind to create a one-of-a-kind bar and entertainment experience. Each table fits up to 10 guests, has its own heater if needed, a 65 inch TV, a QR Code for contactless food and beverage orders, and a hand sanitizing station. Parties sit 7-8 feet apart or have plexiglass to keep a safe distance while enjoying live music, sports, food, and drinks. Jarrod and Taylor have put a strong emphasis on being inclusive: whether it be a drag show or football game, TailGate is dedicated to hosting as many fun events as they can for anyone to enjoy. Customized lunch and dinner prix fixe menus are prepared in collaboration with you to provide your guests with a variety of options. The NORTH GARDEN can be leased in conjunction with the POOL ROOM to give additional capacity for couple's dances, cocktails, and other events. THE POOL ROOM can sit up to 52 people for a seated meal and can be paired with the NORTH GARDEN for pre-dinner cocktails, or expanded to seat up to 80 people. When the garden is accessible to other diners, the sliding frosted glass doors are closed for seclusion when a supper for up to 52 guests is planned. THE EAST GARDEN is a quiet extension of the North Garden. It is great for more private parties, holding up to 24 guests at one table for a seated lunch or dinner. It is covered year-round and enclosed for cold weather. Cocktails can be served in the North Garden before to dinner. In 1914, an Indian grave was discovered on the Hewlett estate of John N. Auerbach. Among the findings were skeletal remains, arrow and spear heads, and a large quantity of copper beads known by the Indians as“sewan”. Auerbach anglicized the name for the beads to Seawane, chose it for his estate, and then it was used for the founding of The Seawane Club in 1927. The National Museum of Mathematics — known as MoMath — is Manhattan's only hands-on institution dedicated entirely to mathematics, and one of New York City's most distinctive settings for private events. The museum is available seven days a week for receptions, banquets, bar and bat mitzvahs, holiday parties, and more. Groups may rent a floor or the entire museum, giving guests exclusive access to the interactive exhibits with the help of trained interpreters. The Enigma Café serves as a natural gathering point for cocktail hours, and exhibits like the Square-Wheeled Tricycle and the Human Tree fractal installation give guests something to discover throughout the evening. For hosts who want to go further, MoMath's artist-in-residence can perform a live laser-cutting demonstration, or a custom scavenger hunt can be designed around the exhibit halls. What exactly is TUFFET? To put it another way, it's a cheese/meat/bar establishment. It consists of over a dozen handmade cheeses as well as eight prepared and cured meats and sausages. Craft beer and fine wine are on the menu. Cocktails and coffee will be served, as well as a seasonal sangria to brag about to your friends. A spot to work during the day and meet up with a friend for a date in the evening. When your flat is too tiny to accommodate your birthday celebration or when the occasion calls for something more elaborate. Alternatively, it may simply be your local tavern.
