Its name means "to make a place of peace and tranquility," and the garden lives up to it: a 32-acre lake, Loko Waimaluhia, sits beneath the dramatic Ko'olau mountain ridgeline, surrounded by plantings gathered from tropical regions worldwide — the Philippines, Malaysia, tropical America, India, Sri Lanka, Melanesia, Polynesia, and Africa.
