Built in 1899 and designed by the Denver firm Varian and Sterner, the Tears McFarlane House is an 8,700-square-foot Colonial Revival mansion situated on the north edge of Cheesman Park in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood. Designated as a Denver historic landmark in 1972 and listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1976, the property stands as one of the finest residential examples of the Colonial Revival style in Colorado. The mansion's interiors preserve notable original details, including a Tiffany stained glass window featuring a fall leaf motif in seven colors on the main staircase landing and a hallway mirror salvaged from the historic Windsor Hotel. The first floor offers elegant gathering spaces — the Parlor, with its hand-crafted bar and fireplace, and the adjoining Dining Room, with crown molding, custom chandeliers, and refinished hardwood floors — that together accommodate first-floor receptions for up to 75 guests. The Richards-Hart Estate is a historic Victorian mansion set on three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Built in 1877 and extensively remodeled by Leadville merchant Patrick Hart beginning in 1926, the estate was purchased by the City of Wheat Ridge in 1976 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The mansion hosts weddings and receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties, and community gatherings. Inside, period colors, wallpapers, and rich wood trims create a turn-of-the-century atmosphere. Separate dressing rooms are available for the wedding party, and a catering kitchen provides storage and serving space. Outdoors, the landscaped grounds include a ceremony arbor and fountain surrounded by manicured gardens. The estate accommodates up to 75 guests for combined indoor and outdoor events from May through September, and up to 50 guests for indoor-only events from October through April. The property is available for private rental seven days a week.
