Founded in 2022, The Broad Center is a grassroots organization driven by a bold mission: to dismantle systemic inequities and empower New Yorkers impacted by poverty, homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and social exclusion. What began as a local outreach effort distributing meals and hygiene kits has quickly grown into a vital safety net for thousands across the city. Our approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and rooted in lived experience. Our staff and volunteers are often members of the very communities we serve, allowing us to provide care that is not only accessible but deeply resonant. As part of our current fundraising efforts to promote our non-profit, we are renting out our Community Center for events. Our large, open space is perfect for a variety of occasions. Ideal Glass Atelier is advantageously located in the popular area of East Village, right by Bowery at the intersection of LES and Soho. Previously home to production studios and a high-end gallery, it is perfect for showrooms, exhibits, and all sorts of immersive popups and events. The stand-alone venue has an extensive frontage and facade, offering flexibility for all sorts of branding opportunities. The interior is filled with bright natural light with high ceilings and a skylight, giving the space an incredibly spacious feel. The venue comes with an additional breakout area and plenty of storage/greenroom and BOH sections.

Sound Mind Center is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit witha venue space that hosts both private rentals and mission-aligned programming amplifying mental health issues through the power of music.

Originally a residential block, the Dumbo neighborhood developed into a major factory area in the late 1800s-early 1900s. Soon, the manufacturer Edward H. Cole established it as one of the most industrial neighborhoods in the city. This brought in William Taylor & Sons Columbian Iron Works on Adams and Water Street, a sign making company, a brass foundry, a two-story machine shop and storage facility for E. W. Bliss and Phillips, Doup & Company. Many of these factories in the area were demolished to make way for the Manhattan Bridge. Luckily, the building at 155 Water Street wasn’t affected by the construction of the bridge and has a long history of manufacturing ironworks and other materials. In 1905, Edward Cole used the factory to make steam fittings then leasing out the property to Phillips, Doup & Company, who built steam heaters. Cole sold the building in 1920 to L&H Stern, manufacturers of smoking pipes and accessories. The company used the lower floors as offices and the upstairs as the production space. The simple brick facade, articulated by segmental openings and projecting lintels and sills, marks 155 Water Street as an example of the American round arch style. Additionally, the slow-burning mill construction and history make it an amazing representative of American factory architecture – contributing greatly to the character of the Dumbo Historic District.
