Landmark on Main Street is a not-for-profit performing arts and community center at 232 Main Street in Port Washington, NY. The venue is housed within a 1994 renovation of an 87-year-old former school building, transformed into a 25,000-square-foot complex that includes the 425-seat Jeanne Rimsky Theater. The Jeanne Rimsky Theater has welcomed performers spanning concerts, Broadway, folk, and jazz — including Rufus Wainwright, Graham Nash, Christine Ebersole, and Mandy Patinkin — as well as events ranging from speaker engagements and dance performances to meetings and birthday parties. In 1914, an Indian grave was discovered on the Hewlett estate of John N. Auerbach. The club's recently renovated facilities include heated swimming pools, private cabanas with customizable amenities, and a full-service oceanfront restaurant and bar — all framed by unobstructed ocean views and imported palm trees. The venue hosts events ranging from weddings and private celebrations to beachside dining experiences. Daily programming includes yoga on the beach and organized activities for all ages, and live entertainment runs Thursday through Sunday evenings, lending the setting a resort atmosphere well-suited to evening events.
