Built in the 1890’s, this Brooklyn landmark played a huge role in the American Industrial Revolution. Once a rope factory producing twine and oakum for the shipyards along the East River, it was also the birthplace of the famous wartime ship, the USS Monitor. The Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse boasts the original brick and wood of the era and the building facade remains untouched from the 1890s. This raw and versatile landmark was recently restored with close attention paid to the details of the past and is now prime for your future event. The street-level gallery offers a crisp white-brick gallery space with neutral gray concrete floors and walls stretching 15 ft in height. The architecture and furnishings in merchants are appealing and genuine; every component is a fresh take on traditional design. Visitors descend a beautiful mahogany paneled staircase that is accented with brass, illuminated by diffused light, and features floor to ceiling bronze mirrors. Upon entering the lounge, visitors are greeted to the right by an opulent handcrafted brass bar, while couples and bigger groups are welcomed to the left by quaint tables and custom leather booths.
