The Captain Morse House, a beautiful piece of Edgartown's history, was built in the Greek Revival style in 1840 and is a National Historic Landmark. Captain Morse sailed to the California gold fields from his wharf at the foot of his street, where he lived in a boarding house. As a result of its preservation of its original character, the house is considered to be an exceptionally fine example of a NE Whaling Captain's Home. Guests staying at the house are invited to a few special events each year, which are announced in advance.     Ferncroft Country Club occupies 287 acres of gently rolling land in Middleton, Massachusetts, 16 miles north of downtown Boston.
