In 2016, Paul Lewis of LTL Architecture oversaw a refurbishment and expansion that culminated in the opening of the brand-new Moody Rooftop. The 3,000 square foot Roof Deck of the Jones Center has a built-in bar, an optional 20' x 11' screen, bistro tables, a panoramic view of the city skyline, and open-air shelter from the elements. This area is perfect for seated dinners, movie screenings, and cocktail parties. On the second floor of the Jones Center, with a view of Congress Avenue, is the Community Room, a room with full A/V capabilities. This area is ideal for lectures, seminars, workshops, and press lounges because it can accommodate up to 70 people. The 3,300 square foot Moody Rooftop at the Jones Center features a lovely canopy and a breathtaking, expansive skyline vista. Designed by Thierry Gaugain, Mama Shelter LA perches six-stories over the beautiful freaks and sputtering neon of Hollywood Blvd, the 70 rooms are warm havens with comfortable king beds. Mama’s rooftop allows you to take in the sights of all of Los Angeles with a near 360 degrees view from the Hollywood sign to Downtown to South Bay to the Westside. She’s located blocks away from the peaked roof and cement celeb handprints at the Chinese Theatre along the Walk of Fame, as well as countless boutiques and bars, tattoo parlors and record shops, burrito stands and vegan restaurants. Marble flooring, tin ceilings, fine woodwork, and one-of-a-kind stained glass windows were all present in the building when it was first constructed in 1899, and all of these features can be seen in the big ballroom. People who are interested in gastronomy, history, and everything in between are among our visitors.
