The National Geographic Society and the Climate Science Alliance are collaborating to offer a series of evening talks and daytime lessons on climate change in 2021, which will be the first time. The Prado is a National Historic Landmark in Balboa Park. After a comprehensive renovation and modernization, The Prado reopened in 2000. The building's architecture, artwork, sculptures, alcoves, gardens, and fountains were all restored during the three-year makeover. The venue's authenticity is enhanced by over two dozen original, hand-painted wooden stencil designs on doors, as well as the elaborate hand stenciled ceilings and beams. The "Women of Tehuantepec" sculpture by Donal Hord is still on display in the renovated central courtyard's fountain. No general admission fee is required to visit the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA), which is located in historic Balboa Park, and visitors are encouraged to make a donation in lieu of paying admission. MOPA is made accessible to everyone through this voluntary contribution policy, which is based on how much one wishes to contribute. Our museum features a large Atrium, Theater, Conference Room, and nine galleries in a lovely and expansive setting. Weddings, cocktail parties, social hours, meetings, and fundraisers are all possible at the museum. An event at the San Diego History Center means celebrating and enjoying the company of coworkers, friends, and family while surrounded by our exquisite location. It is strongly recommended, but not needed, to hire a wedding organizer. You are investing in professional experience and peace of mind by doing so. Weddings are not coordinated on-site at the History Center. Tucked away in the heart of San Diego's historic Balboa Park, the Japanese Friendship Garden is a stunningly beautiful site. The lush woods and tall bamboo provide a truly personal and wonderful environment for private occasions. The Japanese Friendship garden contains winding walks and traditional Japanese garden features, including koi ponds, waterfalls, bonsai, cherry trees and wisteria arbors. To protect the garden’s living exhibition, Japanese Friendship Garden limits the amount of activities held each year. We are now scheduling events for 2023! The distillery of Malahat Spirits provides a one-of-a-kind environment for a memorable celebration. Malahat is unlike any other event venue in the city. Malahat Spirits is a throwback to the days of Prohibition-era speakeasies. The area is authentic, complete with period items. Malahat offers unique cocktail mixes and tastings of their award-winning rums and whiskeys as part of their catering services. To manufacture the finest spirits, they search out rare ingredients, mix ancient procedures with experimentation, and handcraft everything from scratch. Make a reservation for a private event in our distillery and tasting room, such as a birthday, wedding, reunion, celebration, or work. Even during tasting room hours, we can provide private experiences for groups of 6 or more. During Prohibition, the Malahat was known as the "Queen of Rum Row," a five-masted schooner that brought the finest alcohol to Southern California. We commissioned two copper pot stills to help us realize our idea. The huge dual column copper pot still was custom built to fit inside the production facility's skylight, which was the only place in the distillery tall enough to accommodate the towering copper columns. A smaller "experimental" copper still was created for small batches of research and development in order to develop our unique recipes.

You & Yours Distilling Co. is the first urban destination distillery in California, having opened its doors in 2017 after nearly three years of planning. All of our spirits are distilled on-site, using only the freshest ingredients, in our location in the heart of the East Village.
