It was built in 1874 by Dr. Dorris, who had relocated to the Grapevine Prairie from Starkville, Mississippi at the time of its construction. Grapevine's oldest structure has been acknowledged as one of the city's five oldest structures, and it has been restored to its original design and spirit by its current owners.
