Beyond reflecting the aromas, flavors and colors of the Mediterranean in its cuisine, avec's extensive wine list focuses on the region's boutique vineyards. avec's second floor private event space draws from the warm, intimate design of the main dining room, and evokes the feeling of a rustic mediterranean wine cave. Fifteen years ago Stuart Grannen, the founder of the Chicago staple, Architectural Artifacts Inc., purchased an old Charcoal factory in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. He and an internationally acclaimed designer converted this incredible factory space into an AIA award winning home. They kept as much of the original interior finishes to keep the integrity of the building. Stuart began receiving requests for photoshoots and small parties which led him to the conclusion that this space was too special to keep to himself!
