Forbidden Root, the first botanical brewery in Chicago, was founded as a passionately personal project by Robert Finkel after leaving the world of high-stakes entrepreneurship. His idea to create a true-brewed root beer quickly grew to encompass the broader idea of botanic beers. On February 18, 2016, our restaurant and brewery opened in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. More than just a brewpub, we offer fresh and seasonal dishes that highlight our craft beers and elevate the overall dining experience. In addition to our passion for beer and food, Forbidden Root is passionate about giving back. We are a benefit corporation, meaning that goals other than shareholder value are built into our operating charter.

Located in the Brewery District of West Town, Chicago, Bridge 410 is a fusion of industrial and modern. With high ceilings and exposed brick walls in every room, our space is an incredible canvas for your wedding, corporate event, or next unforgettable occasion. Rustic revivalism echoes throughout each room, even sprawling out to our gorgeous backyard, which is offset by the looming artifact of the Paulina Street Bridge. All of our guests have access to the main floor event areas during their rental (backyard is seasonal) and a host of amenities. While each space is distinctly different, they tie together to create a one-of-a-kind, custom experience. The event areas total over 10,000 square feet and includes coveted touches like gated parking, enterprise-strength wi-fi, and furniture. Bridge 410 has become an unparalleled wedding destination. Typical wedding bookings include ceremony on site, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. We can accommodate up to 150 people for seated dinner receptions and up to 175 people for “cocktail style” receptions. Weddings include access to all of our event spaces and amenities. Amenities include tables, chairs, highboys, and up lights, and access to our suite of yard games. We also love hosting corporate events and social gatherings! Enjoy all of the charm of Maxwells Trading in a unique private event setting. Maxwells Trading welcomes guests through a private entrance, features an outdoor patio, a turntable for hosts' records and a one-of-a-kind antique book library.

Creativo Loft is an intimate private loft, specializing in small weddings, elopements and private social events. Our building dates back to 1887, and features original rustic hardwood floors, tin ceilings and other vintage features. As a raw space, it can be transformed to really any look, modern, vintage, formal, casual, and anything in between. We are centrally located at the intersection of Chicago Ave. & Milwaukee Ave., less than 2 miles from north Michigan Ave., in the River West / West Town neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes drive from most downtown hotels. We offer several event services in-house, and can assist clients with event planning and vendor referrals. Catering and alcohol is handled by any outside professional full-service catering company of your choice, provided that they meet our venue requirements for the correct licenses, insurance, and service capabilities. Our venue fees include tables, chairs, linens, and standard set-up for your event. Capacity with banquet seating with room for dancing is 74 people. For dining-only (no dancing) we can seat up 84 max. For standing cocktail parties, with highboy tables, the capacity is up to 100 standing guests. On average, events at our venue generally have between 30 - 70 people.

In the heart of Downtown Skokie, we are an Italian-focused, beautifully designed, contemporary dining destination. Hand-made pastas, rustically honest entrees, and freshly prepared, per order sauces and marinades, are details that we feel are important and are signatures of our dishes and presentations.

Situated in West Town on the corner of Fulton and Wood, the Goose Island Taproom serves rotating, innovative beers made in Chicago, for Chicago. The Taproom opened back in 2015 to bring the beers brewed in the building right to the neighborhood. Along with classics like Honkers Ale and 312 Wheat Ale, our brewers put experimental beers on tap regularly.

Guild Row is a place where the creative and civic minded connect. Located in Avondale along the Rockwell Corridor, our facility is designed to accommodate a wide range of events for groups large and small. Built around an open air courtyard, the Guild Row campus features a teaching kitchen, a woodshop, a live fire cooking station, a members lounge with a full café and bar, a co-working space, a small library, and an ultra-flexible dynamic space perfect for gatherings and events of all kinds. Our facility boasts high volume spaces, industrial aesthetics and bespoke hand-hewn details. Each room at Guild Row has a unique personality drawn from its historic past and artisanal capacities. Private bookings include local control of temperature, sound & lighting systems, and overhead doors that connect each interior room to our exterior courtyard. Guild Row started when three people decided to build something together. Beginning in 2016, Mike Healy, Jim Lasko and Elyse Agnello met around Jim's kitchen table on Tuesday nights for nearly two years. They hosted local thinkers, tinkerers, bakers, bankers, entrepreneurs, and makers until they came to see the contours of a unique place where craft and concern for the social good coalesced. Guild Row was born at the intersection of their experience: a building, designed by daam, an architecture and design firm founded by Agnello; filled with programming curated by Lasko who made his name as the director of Chicago's renowned red moon theater, a company committed to wild, participatory spectacles; and woven thoughtfully into a dynamic neighborhood under the guidance of Healy, an award-winning urban planner regarded for his ability to distill complex problems to actionable steps.
